| 1 Chronicles 16:11 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. Psalm 37:7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Isaiah 55:6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Dear Friend, today is President's Day, and many have modified it to be Presidents' Day to honor more than the first president of our country. Many banks, schools, and other offices are closed today to celebrate this national day of recognition of our presidents. In the early years, the leaders of our country earnestly sought wisdom from God, and took time to pray each and every day. It is only when we take time to be quiet and still before God, that we can sense his guidance in our lives. Whether you are working today, or enjoying the day in another manner, please take time to pray for our leaders. Thank God for their service and leadership, and ask Him to guide them, especially as they have many difficult decisions to make each day. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. Blessings to You, Dave Henry |
