| Romans 12:9-10 (NIV) Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Ephesians 4:2 (NIV) Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 1 John 4:7 (NIV) Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Proverbs 17:17 (NIV) A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Dear Friend, it is Valentine's Day, and there is no doubt about that. More than just today, we have been commanded to love one another and esteem others above ourselves. I particularly am challenged by the passage in 1 Corinthians 13, commonly known as the 'Love Chapter.' Where the verse mentions the word 'love' every time, are you able to insert your name and the verse still be a true statement? Let us truly love one another unconditionally as Jesus has first loved us! Blessings to you, Dave Henry |
