Jesus Died for You!

John 12:23-30 (NIV)
Jesus replied, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
"Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!"
Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again." The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him. Jesus said, "This voice was for your benefit, not mine.

Revelation 3:20 (NIV)
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."

Once again, as we remember and celebrate this time of year we call Easter, may we take a few moments each day this week to reflect on the events leading up to the crucifixion and eventual resurrection. You see, without the crucifixion of Jesus, we would still be dead in our sins. Because He was willing to bear the sins of the world, we all may have eternal life.

Dear Friend, what does Easter mean to you? Is this a time of celebration of your salvation, or are you lost in your own darkness? If you cannot truly say that you are a disciple of Jesus, please take time today to ask for His forgiveness. We are all sinners, but we all can have eternal life if we will turn from our wicked ways and follow Him. Jesus never said that following Him would be easy, but He did promise us that He would never leave us nor forsake us, even until the very end of the age. Won't you trust Him today to be your Savior?

Blessings to You,
Dave Henry
