Praise Him with Music!

Colossians 3:16 (NIV) "Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." Psalm 98:4-6 (NIV) "Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn— shout for joy before the LORD, the King." Earlier today our band practiced for an hour or so, working on a few of our new songs. It was very enjoyable to share the wonderful gift of music after a busy, tiring day at the office. While we played, I was reminded that there is an amazing power and benefit in music. Even when we don't have the right words to say to someone who needs to be encouraged, music has an amazing way of lifting our souls. As a brother in the band, I can truly say that daily we pray that our music is uplifting and encouraging to all who listen. Some of our songs are slow and melodious, while others are peppy and upbeat. Our message and mission is very clear--all of our music is a gift from God that we have been entrusted to share with a hurting, struggling, dying world. We are truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity to share our music as we have been commanded. Dear Friend, how has music impacted your life?
