| Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God." What a crazy, busy life this has become for all of us! In our home we have a display on the living room wall that includes this verse. How often do we get so caught up in the things of this world that we forget to be quiet before God? The following poem, written by Regine Ann Baldomar, was given to me about 10yrs ago by a friend who told me to always take time to pray early in the morning before I start my day. I got up early one morning, And rushed right into the day; I had so much to accomplish, I didn't have time to pray. Troubles just tumbled about me, And heavier came each task. "Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. He answered, "You didn't ask." I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and lovingly chided, "Why, child, you didn't knock." I wanted to see joy and beauty, But the day toiled on gray and bleak. I wondered why God didn't show me. He said, "You didn't seek." I woke up early this morning, And paused before entering the day. I had so much to accomplish That I had to take time to pray. Dear Friend, won't you take time to pray today? It doesn't matter if it is in your car, your living room, or in your office, but God has instructed us to be still and be quiet before Him. Psalm 46:1,2 says that "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble; therefore we will not fear." Make it a great day today and remember that our Father in Heaven loves you and cares for you so very much! He is ready and able and willing to help us accomplish all of our tasks today as we keep our eyes on Him. Dave Henry |
